Numina
In this lengthy piece, I ask and then attempt to respond to the following questions:
1) What if the panoply of various art forms, from visual iconography to ancient texts, was born out of the chaotic pandemonium of each artist’s psyche?
2) What if this chaotic psychic pandemonium was the same cosmic movement constellated in the psyche of all humans, infinitely connecting us through thought-patterns conceived from the same movement of time as that of our physical anatomy?

"Absolute Zero: The Accurately Incorrect Cryptic Climax in the 'Ithaca' Episode"
Taking a close look at James Joyce's "Ithaca" episode in Ulysses, I found the cryptic climax of this book to be compellingly mysterious. I therefore wrote this scholarly piece as my directive string through the labyrinth created by Joyce's witty and cleaver weaving's, leading readers to the moment of climax and unveiling the hidden meaning disguised by pedantic yet deceptive language and a cabalistic plot.

"Stephen Dedalus: Identity in His Name"
Based upon a close-reading of James Joyce's Portrait of an Artist as a Young Man and extensive research, I analyzed the meaning of one's name according to Joyce -the author and Steven -the character.

A Remembering...
This is a sample of one of my creative nonfiction pieces that my graduate thesis is based upon. It is a reflection upon my childhood when I grew up in dark and dangerous streets of North Minneapolis.

We Owned the Dirt
This piece reflects upon my family's move out of the city and into the arms of nature when my parents bought a hill in rural Wisconsin and proceeded to build our home with their own hands. My life was humble and resembled more of a pioneer's existence than that lived by most in the 1980's.
